Maggie Grace To Guest Star on Masters of Sex!

Via hollywoodreporter.com : The actress will play a confident gynecologist on the Showtime drama. A new doctor is joining William Masters and Virginia Johnson's clinic this season on Masters of Sex. Lost alum Maggie Grace will guest star in an upcoming episode of the Showtime drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Grace will play Dr. Christine Wesh, a well-respected and confident gynecologist who helps out at the clinic on a case with international implications. The third season of Masters of Sex will see Masters (Michael Sheen) and Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) deal with the national spotlight as their sex study is finally unveiled at the start of the Sexual Revolution. Grace's credits also include the Taken franchise and Showtime's Californication. She is repped by UTA and Zero Gravity. The new season of Masters of Sex premieres July 12 at 10 p.m. on Showtime!

Masters of Sex Adds Tate Donovan and Julie Ann Emery!

Via hollywoodreporter.com : Masters of Sex is filling out its season 3 cast. The Showtime drama had booked Damages alum Tate Donovanand Better Call Saul actress Julie Ann Emery for a two episode guest spot. They join previously announced guest stars Josh Charles (The Good Wife) and Maggie Grace (Taken). The drama, which chronicles the journey of real life sex researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson, stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan. The upcoming season will jump ahead to 1966 and focus on the pair's rise to fame following the publishing of their book on human sexuality. Donovan, who recently finished shooting Kenneth Lonergan's Manchester by the Sea, will play Graham, a confident scientist whose relationship with Margaret Scully (Allison Janney) brings them to Masters and Johnson’s clinic. Emery will play Jo, a woman who seeks help dealing with a unique relationship. In addition to her role as an embezzler's wife in AMC's Breaking Bad spin-off, she played pregnant widow Ida Thurman in FX's Fargo. Masters of Sex will return on July 12 at 10 p.m.

Josh Charles joins Masters of Sex in major role!

Via ew.com: Josh Charles is ready to return to TV: EW has learned that the former Good Wife star has signed on to the third season of Showtime’s Masters of Sex. The Emmy-nominee will play Daniel Logan, “a self-made businessman working in the scent industry. In an attempt to bottle the smell of sex and market an aphrodisiac to the general public, Dan seeks out Masters (Michael Sheen) and Johnson’s (Lizzy Caplan) expertise on desire. A charismatic salesman, Dan’s involvement with Masters and Johnson becomes complicated.” Read: Charles’ character might draw Johnson’s interest.This marks Charles’ first major role since making a dramatic exit from CBS’ Good Wife last year, when his character Will Gardner was shockingly killed off. Since then, the Dead Poets Society and Sports Night veteran has been courted by many producers looking to cast him in their projects—but Masters of Sex has won out. The move also keeps Charles in the corporate, family since CBS Corp. also owns Showtime. Charles will also appear in Netflix’s upcoming Wet Hot American Summer sequel. Masters of Sex’s new season is set in 1966, when Masters and Johnson are dealing with the glare of the national spotlight as their sex study is finally unveiled. Frances Fisher & Michael O’Keefe will play Virginia's parents!

EW has learned exclusively that Frances Fisher and Michael O’Keefe will play mother and father, respectively, to Lizzy Caplan’s Virginia Johnson when they appear on season 3 of Masters of Sex (premiering on Showtime July 12). Fisher and O’Keefe are each booked for two episodes. Johnson’s parents will pay their daughter a surprise visit, where her mother will question both Virginia’s controversial work at the office and her lifestyle choices at home. (Yep, sounds about right.) This year, Masters of Sex jumps ahead four years to 1965 and the debut of Masters and Johnson’s Human Sexual Response—a groundbreaking journal that put the pair on the national radar and the eventual road to stardom, but also made them the focus of intense scrutiny. EW premiered the show’s season 3 trailer here. Both Fisher and O’Keefe are longtime TV vets. Fisher most recently starred on the ABC’s short-lived Resurrection, though she’s best known for playing Kate Winslet’s mother in 1997’s Titanic. O’Keefe is an Oscar nominee (The Great Santini) perhaps best remembered as Danny Noonan in Caddyshack; he recently recurred on season 4 of Showtime’s Homeland.

Showtime’s “Masters of Sex” has added to its cast for the upcoming season, booking actress Erin Cummings for a guest role. Cummings will appear as Kitty, a high class prostitute with a no nonsense, “get the job done” attitude. She is described as smart and calculating, but also care-taking. Kitty will be pivotal in the research conducted by Masters and Johnson. The role is open-ended for recurring. Cummings’ recent credits include guest spots on “Criminal Minds,” “Inside Amy Schumer” and “Unforgettable.” She is also set to appear in ABC’s upcoming drama “Astronaut Wives Club.” Based on true events, “Masters of Sex” follows Dr. William Masters (Michael Sheen) and his assistant Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) as they pursue the science of human sexuality through controversial research studies.
